We work in logistics centres and warehouses where traffic volume has grown faster than the framework managing it — usually after an expansion, a move to a new building, or a fire authority question that revealed the storage in practice is not what was designed.

What usually needs attention

Forklifts and pedestrians in the same aisle

Most warehouse injuries are to pedestrians, not operators. Floor marking wears away, blind spots appear as racking fills, and external drivers who do not know the site walk into the operating area looking for somebody.

Storage that grew upward without the framework growing with it

A shelf added, a pallet placed higher than designed for, a load never checked against the racking specification. Falling objects are among the most serious warehouse risks, and they are nearly always the result of accumulated small decisions.

What is stored decides the fire requirements

Two warehouses of the same size can be an order of magnitude apart in fire load. A change in the goods mix — more cardboard, more plastic, more aerosols — changes the picture without anybody having changed the building.

Access and escape routes that close gradually

A pallet placed by an exit door "for an hour", an aisle narrowed when racking expanded, fire appliance access blocked by trolleys. None of these looks like a decision, which is why they are found only on a walk.
