Implementing management systems to ISO 45001 and ISO 14001
Occupational health and safety management system and environmental management system — gap analysis, implementation, internal audits and preparation for certification audits.
Hoshen Engineering & Consulting supports organisations in establishing, embedding and improving management systems to two international standards: ISO 45001 for occupational health and safety management and ISO 14001 for environmental management. The service covers gap analysis, building procedures and processes, identifying risks and opportunities, setting objectives, preparing the required documentation, internal audits, and preparation for certification audits with an external certification body.
ISO 45001 — occupational health and safety management system
An international standard for managing the health and safety of an organisation's employees. Support covers gap analysis, hazard identification and risk assessment, developing safety policy and objectives, procedures and documentation, involving employees, safety representatives and management, incident management and corrective actions, internal audits and preparation for an external certification audit.
ISO 14001 — environmental management system
An international standard for managing the environmental aspects of an organisation's activities. Support covers gap analysis, identifying environmental aspects and impacts, mapping legal and environmental regulatory requirements, setting policy, objectives and action plans, procedures and documentation, preparedness for environmental emergencies, internal audits and preparation for an external certification audit.
Stages of the engagement — adapted to the relevant standard and to the nature of the organisation's activity:
- Gap analysis against the requirements of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001
- Mapping the organisation's occupational health and safety processes
- Identifying hazards, assessing risks and defining controls
- Developing an occupational health and safety policy
- Setting safety objectives, work plans and performance measures
- Preparing the required procedures, forms and records
- Integrating Israeli legal and regulatory requirements into the management system
- Defining responsibility and authority for role holders
- Involving employees, safety representatives and managers in safety processes
- Managing training, competence and employee awareness
- Managing incidents, near misses, investigations and lessons learned
- Tracking corrective and preventive actions
- Preparing for and conducting internal audits
- Preparing for the management review
- Preparing for the external certification audit
- Supporting audit findings through to closure of the gaps
A working management system, not a folder of procedures
The engagement focuses on establishing a management system that actually operates rather than on documents alone: connecting risk assessments, procedures, training, safety committees, incident reporting, corrective actions and management review — so that the system genuinely serves the organisation and fits how it works.
Preparing for certification audits
The firm assists in preparing the organisation for certification and surveillance audits, including readiness checks, completing documentation, preparing managers and employees, conducting a preliminary internal audit and supporting the closure of findings. Certification itself is carried out by an accredited external certification body.
